One of Us film festival explored mental health

Two of our Remind Mental Health Consumer and Carer Educators featured as key note speakers at the One of Us film festival.

The aim of One of Us film festival was to bring attention to the diversity of experiences in mental illness and health. A small number of films were selected from Australia and around the world, showing the colours and challenges of mental illness as well as inspiring mental health and wellbeing.

One of Us film festival was also be an opportunity to find out more about current research in mental health (especially from BDC, Westmead) as well as to make contacts and find information and resources on mental health in the community.

A busy start for our Remind Consumer Educators

Its has been a busy start for our Remind Consumer Educators. They have been requested to participate in an e-learining project by the University of Sydney.

Educators have presented their stories of mental illness to the University of Sydney for over three years. They have also been involved in Pharmacy focus groups helping pharmacy students gain more knowledge into medications.

An e-Learning project produced by Sydney University

Our Remind Mental Health Educators have been involved in an e-learning project produced by Sydney University. Our educators became actors as they spoke about their lived experience of having a mental illness.

A video on 'Lives Being Recovered'

Janssen in collaboration with Remind are developing a video focussing on Lives Being Recovered.  It will give inspiration and hope to people living with schizophrenia, by showing them that they have the ability to shape their own future with the right treatment and community support.
